More about Kallie Mae

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn’t happen much, though.” ― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

I hope you all enjoyed going out on the Christian Fiction Scavenger Hunt that’s coming to an end at midnight Mountain time tonight (Sunday.) I hope you discovered new authors and found books that you want to add to your “want to read” pile.

I loved hearing from so many of you. Thank you for signing up for my news. I just sent out a newsletter, but I’ll be sending out another one early in May when A Chance for Kallie Mae releases. I’ll be ready to do another giveaway then and will be sure to do something fun here on One Writer’s Journal too. I usually celebrate a new book with a Mystery Photo Game, but we’ll see. Maybe we will do something different this book. Something about reading. Hmm, I’ll have to do some thinking about that.

Meanwhile, I’m so glad to know you’re excited about reading Kallie Mae’s story. I think you will like the characters and the Kentucky history, but also the romance too. Don’t we always need a little romance threaded into a story? Kallie Mae and Quinn are hoping for a chance for  that romance, but they’ve got some obstacles in the way.

If there weren’t obstacles in stories, we probably wouldn’t want to read them. We like when the characters we read about or watch in movies or on television have to overcome those obstacles to get to whatever ending is out there in the world of fiction. That could be a romance working or not working, a mystery solved, a family brought together, a life understood, or who knows what else authors might use to pull you into their stories.

I hope you will want to read my story to see how this romance and story turn out.  It’s out there for preorder now.

As always, thanks for reading. If you rushed through the Scavenger Hunt and want to go back and read some of the posts again, they will still be there to be enjoyed. Now on to the next book, right?

  1. I’m really looking forward to reading this one! It sounds so intriguing.
I’m hoping to be free to join you at Tastefully Delicious again for the booksigning.
I was sorry I missed the scavenger hunt this time. I’ve been busy making several Easter dresses and being online has taken a back seat. Maybe next time though, since I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them in the past.
    Happy writing and happy springtime!
    🙂

I think you can still got read all the posts, Lavon. You just can’t qualify for the prizes now, but the posts and finding out about new books is the best.

I know the dresses you are making or have finished making will be lovely. It will be fun to see you at my booksigning if you get to come. I might still do a book party this summer too. Always fun but too much work to do while I’m trying to finish a new story.

I always hope my story will be one readers will like, Trudy. And this one was fun with the emphasis on wanting to learn to read. I really can’t imagine life without being able to read.
Then again, maybe I did imagine it a little with Kallie Mae.

  2. So excited to read A Chance for Kallie Mae! It sounds so intriguing that I can’t wait to see how Kallie & Quinn work things out!
