Elena Bradford Is Making Waves on the Internet

When I have a new release, I’m always surprised by readers who go the extra mile to let me know they’ve read my book. I appreciate when they write a review and post it online somewhere or many somewheres. This time I’ve had a few make graphics with pictures they’ve gleaned from the internet (I suppose) but that match what happens in the story. Here is one that Kara posted on Instagram and shared with me in a message. She says I can share it on FB and with you here. Isn’t it neat?

First she has the book highlighted in flowers and flowers do play a part in the story, especially yellow roses which she shares in a different picture. Then there are those ladies in beautiful dresses enjoying the dances.  Elena and her sister, Ivy, did enjoy dancing with the gentlemen at Graham Springs. I love the picture of the couples promenading down the tree-lined walkway. I didn’t highlight that too much in my story, but it was mentioned quite often in the research I did. And doesn’t that picnic in the garden look romantic. I’m sure Elena eventually shared some garden picnics with someone she loved.

The artist kit is perfect for the graphic since Elena did love to sketch and there was Kirby doing those portraits of all the guests at Graham Springs.

Last, or perhaps I should say first, we have the stagecoach since the story starts out with a stagecoach adventure.

Other great graphics are popping up on Instagram. One from Jenna who took the time to do a little research and found that Graham Springs was really a place in the the 1800’s. Here’s her graphic where she included those historical pluses along with all the romantic ones. She even has an artist doing a portrait under a tree by a lake.  Not sure if any ducks are out there on the lake or not.

Some nice review are coming in too. Many reasons for this writer to smile this week. If you wrote a review or shared a post or listened to a podcast or watched me on YouTube, thank you. I’m sure you will enjoy listening to Jaime Jo Wright on her MadLit Musings Podcast. We had a great time talking books here.

Here’s Lucy’s review. Thank you, Lucy. So glad you liked the story.

As always this author does an impeccable job of drawing you into the story and making you feel like you are a part of the journey. From the beautiful cover that captures your attention to the last page I was totally engrossed. I love how the history of Graham Springs is brought to life and the healing waters of the springs as I had never heard of this one located in Kentucky. We find ourselves on a harrowing stagecoach ride where we meet several important characters that shape the story from the secrets being kept to the pretense it will grab your attention. It is nice to watch the characters grow and develop as you turn the pages to unlock the secrets and sometimes hidden desires of their hearts. I loved the wisdom of General Dawson and his matchmaking qualities. He was a character I wanted to know more. From the ballroom dances to strolling the grounds you will feel like you have taken a step back in time. I especially enjoyed the mystery that is included that added an interesting facet to the story. This story is a winner in my opinion of how faith, family, truth, and love are the ingredients for success. As the old saying goes, this story is the whole ball of wax. Make sure you read the author’s notes at the end as it contains information you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend putting this on the top of your next read pile.

Lucy is a regular commenter here on One Writer’s Journal, and I feel as though I know her even though we’ve never met offline. I appreciate each of you that I meet here online. Thank you for being one of my reading friends and for your comments and support.

An extra chance to get to know Elena is this interview she did with Rebecca who works at Graham Springs in hospitality. She wants to be sure Elena is having a great visit to the hotel. You can read the interview on the Fresh Fiction blog.

A head’s up. Today is the deadline for me to get my work in progress finished. My wonderful editor gave me a couple of extra days to do a little more polishing of my words before I send it in. I’ll have to do more polishing but this first round of polishing is important to me. I want to send in the best version of my story that I can. So, I need to get back to work with my polishing keys. But next week, I’ll be doing some giveaways here, and we’ll play some games. Would you like to do another mystery photo game?

What makes you put a book on the top of your next read pile?

  1. A recommendation from a friend puts books at the top of my list most often. When friends ask for recommendations on Facebook,I will screenshot the comments for books I might want to read.

  2. I love your photo game. So creative.
