Off at a Writers’ Retreat

Fun times at a retreat for writers. Always good to rub shoulders with fellow writers. Lots of talk. Lots of laughs and in a beautiful place. Do you know where from the picture up top?

And when we get here guess what? They are having a dog carnival day right across from our hotel. How fun is that? And perfect for my daughter and me since we are both dog lovers. We saw some cute puppies and a wolfhound. They are interesting looking dogs. We also saw this family of dachshunds so we had to stop and meet them.

And then at our dinner I talked Laura Frantz into taking a picture with me. She said I shouldn’t post it, but here it is anyway. You all don’t tell Laura!!

I’ll share more pictures later in the week. Now if I can just get inspired to write a new story. But first, one more day until official release of In the Shadow of the River.

I’m so excited for you to go showboat riding with my characters and to know what you think of the story.

So do you know where I am?

Laura didn’t want to take a picture, but she agreed to let us snap one together. She’s a beautiful lady and a wonderful writer. Glad you liked the picture, Laura.

  2. No but I hope you had a wonderful time. You deserve a break after writing a new book with all the deadlines. It looks beautiful there and you look like you are in your element! My copy arrives today and I can’t wait to get home from to start “In the Shadow of the River”!!

My daughter and I had fun touring the town of Savannah. She’d been there before but I hadn’t. A very historic town.

Hope you will enjoy my showboat story, Pamela.

  3. Have fun! I do believe that’s the fountain at Forsyth Park in Savannah. I love Savannah, especially in the springtime. I haven’t been there for years, but my heart wants to return. So much history there, and the food is fantastic. It’s the perfect city for a mother/daughter retreat.

You knew the fountain, Lavon. I thought maybe some would recognize it. Hope you get to make a return visit someday. First time I’d ever been there. I needed a few more days to take in everything.
