More Book Fun & a Giveaway Chance

Thanks to all of you who suggested a book that I could send to Anita. I need to get that in the mail to her so she won’t think I forgot about her winning. I did already send the cuddly blanket winging its way to her. We could use a cuddly blanket around here today. Frost everywhere this morning and some ice in the bird’s birdbath. That was old Jack Frost going a little too far!

The three books mentioned most here and on my Facebook page were When the Meadow Blooms, Angel Sister, and River to Redemption. But a few other titles did get a mention. Loretta even gave a vote for my first Hidden Springs mystery, Murder at the Courthouse. I’m always happy to talk that book up to mystery lovers. Interestingly enough, nobody mentioned a Shaker book even though I often have readers say they would like me to write another story set in my Shaker village of Harmony Hill. The others that were mentioned where Along a Storied Trail and These Healing Hills. I’d be happy to send either of those two. But the vote is in.

I did say I’d go with the book most mentioned or throw the names in a hat and pick one at random. Most mentioned was When the Meadow Blooms by one over Angel Sister and River to Redemption. Then when I did a random drawing, the number for When the Meadow Blooms came up again. Guess I better send Anita When the Meadow Blooms. Maybe that story will still make her friend want to read more of my stories even though it isn’t part of a series.

Besides I do have all these great graphics to decorate up my post tonight. The publishers weren’t doing graphics when I published Angel Sister, but maybe I should make some now to share. I’m sure I could pull some good quotes out of the story. Actually, the only one designed by the publishers I used tonight is the one below with the blooming tree. I did the blooming meadow ones above, using pictures of fields here on my farm at different times of the year so different flowers were in bloom.

Making graphics is fun. And easier than sitting in front of my keyboard and coming up with a new story. But priorities. Writing that new story is priority one. I’ve finally settled on some names and a place and a year. So I’m making progress.

Book Giveaway Chance

Priority two is offering a book giveaway chance to you readers here on my blog. I’ve come up with something different to try. Not sure how well it will work or if you think it will be fun. If hardly anyone responds, then I’ll know it didn’t work. Of course that will make the chance of winning one of my autographed books a lot better for those who do decide to play along.

What I’m going to do is share a random line out of one of my books. To enter, you just have to guess which book it might be from. You don’t have to be right. If you don’t know and it’s probably a good chance you won’t since I have a few zillion lines in every book, just pick one of my book titles. I’ve mentioned several in this post. The line I’m picking is from one of those books. We’ll see how it works and if it’s too hard, I’ll give a list of three possible books with the next random line in Wednesday’s post. As always, each time you comment or guess on a new post, you get another entry in the drawing. I’ll pick, by random (I seem to be stuck on random), three winners who will be notified by email. Deadline to enter is midnight EST October 28, 2022. You must be at least eighteen years old to enter the giveaway.

Okay. Here’s the first random line.

“The Lord, he always answers if you pray believin’.” No doubt leaked into his words.

I’m pretty sure some of you will get this one.

I knew many of you would get this first one right. I love it that you did because that means you liked the way Louis thought everybody should pray believing. So glad you joined in on the fun.

Stay tuned Wednesday night or Thursday morning to see what new line I come up with. I’ve got a lot of books I could grab a random line from, but I’ll try to have something about it that might be a clue. Maybe. 🙂
