“May your life be like a wildflower, growing freely in the beauty and joy of each day.” – Native American Proverb

I love when the wildflowers start blooming. I walked over this morning to check on their progress. That’s when I realized I’d let Wednesday slip past me without sharing a post. So, you are getting a Thursday morning post instead. I’m working hard to finish my work in progress. Most of my words must go toward that story. But I can take a few minutes to share some wildflower pictures. These are from walks on other days in other years. I think some of this year’s wildflower blooms might have gotten nipped by last weekend’s frost. But more different flowers are on the way.

I’ve probably already missed seeing some of these blooms down along the creek. They bloom early and vanish quickly as they make room for more flowers. Wildflowers take their turns in the wild throughout the spring. Hope you enjoy the photos and the quotes.

“I hope you are blessed with a heart like a wildflower. Strong enough to rise again after being trampled upon, tough enough to weather the worst of the summer storms, and able to grow and flourish even in the most broken places.” – Nikita Gill

Do you have a favorite wildflower quote?

  1. Wildflowers are my favorite flowers; especially, daisies and black-eyed Susan’s! Being in the city, surrounded with concrete and blacktop, I don’t get to see wildflowers very often. I did try to plant some in flower pots last summer, but, didn’t have much luck with them. Since I will probably have to move sometime between June and August because of new management at my apartment building increasing my rent by $150, I’m not sure about trying to plant some seeds this summer.

Sorry about your rent increase, Linda Dianne. Seems everything is having an increase right now. But maybe somehow whatever new place you find will bless you with the sight of daisies nearby.

  2. I don’t know any wildflower quotes! I have had a nice surprise, though! I thought one of crepe myrtles was dead after our cold temps this winter, and two nights in the 20’s! However, it’s started producing leaves!! All three of my other ones are putting out, too, started before this one, so that makes me really happy!!

Glad your crepe myrtle are budding out for you, Trudy. I think mine isn’t going to although I’m going to wait a little longer to see. If it doesn’t, it usually comes up from the roots and starts all over again.

I’ve sometimes noticed that different colors seem more prominent at times with wildflowers, Connie. While it isn’t completely true, I think there are more white blooms among them in the earliest part of spring. May be just my imagination. 🙂

  3. I love these wildflower quotes especially, “Flowers are the music of the ground. From earth’s lips spoken without sound.” – Edwin Curran Thank you for sharing them.
