Sumo-DrivingA gorilla with a cellphone riding a bicycle is bound to generate some clever captions. (Steve Breen)

I didn’t have a picture of a gorilla with a cellphone on a bicycle, but if I did, I’m sure you all would have come up with some clever captions for my Caption Giveaway Game. Thanks so much for joining in with my caption fun. Your captions were great. I hope you had fun too.

The game is over since I picked the last winner a few minutes ago and that winner is Marihelen. I haven’t heard from her yet, but I’m sure I will soon. Then I’ll get those prizes sent out to her and Loretta and Diana. I’ve been slow to get to the post office with lots going on around here. Some good. Some not so good.

I’m sharing one more picture that I started to use for the game, but decided to go with Sumo looking out of the front windshield instead. However, this one could have had some of the same captions you suggested earlier like “Keep your eyes on the road.”

Girl and PupDogs and More Dogs

For Wednesday’s picture, obviously many of you have seen a begging for a puppy look on a kid’s face because you nailed that last week with your “please, can I take him home?” captions. This granddaughter did get her own dog soon after this. After she had that sweet little dog for a few years, the dog unfortunately escaped from her fenced back yard and ran in front of a car. Heartbreak time for her and for me sGirl and pupince I had gotten very attached to Amber by often dog sitting for her.

But a few months ago she got another pup. This one is an interesting mix of lab and basset hound. Hard to even imagine what she looks like, but she’s cute in her curious way and very affectionate. Sometimes she even listens! And you can see how happy my granddaughter is with the answer that yes, she could take this pup home. But I do have to say she does feed and walk and clean up after her pup. She’s glad to say that the pup is well house-trained now.

Looks like this post has gone to the dogs. Again thanks so much for playing my caption game.

A New E-book SaleMurder-at-the-Courthouse

My publishers have really been running the e-book sales on my books this spring. Scent of Lilacs is still a 99 cent download for a few more weeks. Now my first Hidden Springs book, Murder at the Courthouse, is on sale for $2.99 as one of Amazon’s special deals. So, if you have an e-reader, this is a great chance to take a trip to Hidden Springs and find out what’s going on there before the new Hidden Springs book, Murder Comes by Mail, releases in May. I’ll be doing some more fun giveaways then here on my blog and on my newsletter too. And I’ll be taking part in a blog Scavenger Hunt beginning on April 22. Those are always fun and you can win some great prizes.

As always, thanks for reading.

Thanks for you captions, Karen and Pat. They are fun. And Pat, I think you’re right. Some people are lousy drivers. LOL.
